Reports

This part of the guides covers the Reporting tab: running the reports EVX Software provides, building your own, and printing or exporting the results. It is for everyone who needs to look deeper into projects, time, and billing than the dashboard shows.

What you will find here

  • Standard reports: the reports listed in the Reporting tab, and how to run them.
  • Custom reports: build a report with your own conditions, columns, and grouping.
  • Exports: print a report or save it as CSV, PDF, or Excel.
  • Billing report: billable work, time, and expenses for invoicing.
  • Invoicing history: what was invoiced, and when.
  • Time reports: the hours your team recorded, by person, project, or period.
  • Prebuilt reports: ready-made reports on project budgets, fee proposals, forecasts, contract stages, and utilization, each with its own page.

How it fits together

The Reporting tab lists the reports in numbered groups: Timesheets, Project Management, Invoicing, Sales, Administrative, Business Financials, and Other reports. The reports your firm builds appear under Custom reports. Each report shows a short description of what it covers. You choose its filters, such as a project or a period, and run it.

A report includes only the records you can see, so two people can run the same report and get different results. For a quick view of your projects on one screen, use the dashboard. See Overview and dashboard.

Example: preparing a client meeting

Before a monthly meeting with a state agency, a project manager runs 01. Project budget by tasks for the wetland assessment project to compare the budgeted and executed time and cost. She then runs 01. Aging invoices to check which invoices are still open, and exports both reports as PDF to share with the client.

What you can do next

  1. Standard reports to run your first report.
  2. Prebuilt reports for budgets, fees, forecasts, and utilization.
  3. Custom reports to build a report of your own.
