Prebuilt reports

This page lists the prebuilt reports: reports that come ready to run in the Reporting tab, for the questions a firm asks most often about its projects and its people. Each report has its own page, listed under this one in the sidebar, with what the report shows, its filters, and its columns.

The prebuilt reports

Project budgets and fees

Forecasts and stages

People

  • Utilization Report: the hours each person recorded and their billable utilization against their goal.

For reports you build yourself, see Custom reports.

How it fits together

Prebuilt reports read the records your team enters every day: tasks with their estimates, time entries, budgeted and actual expenses, and invoices, with their projects and labor categories. A report is only as complete as those records. Each report can be printed, or exported to CSV, PDF, or Excel. See Exports.

Example: a monthly project review

Before the monthly review, a principal runs the budget control report to see which projects are spending faster than planned. He opens the budget status report of the two projects that stand out, then checks the utilization report to see whether the field team's billable hours are on target. He exports the three reports to share them at the meeting.

What you can do next

  1. Project Financials - Budget Control Report to compare estimates with what was executed.
  2. Utilization Report to follow billable hours by person.
  3. Exports to share a report outside EVX Software.
