Important and optional task fields
Task fields determine how the task appears in lists, reports, calendars, time tracking, billing, and workflows.
What you can do
- Important fields often include project, labor category, client, rate schedule, assignee, start date, due date, and estimated time.
- Optional fields may include priority, percent complete, parent task, previous tasks, reminders, repeating settings, linked objects, and custom properties.
- Financial or billing fields may appear depending on configuration and permissions.
- Custom properties allow each organization to capture additional task information.
Environmental consulting example
A sampling task may use a custom property to capture sample media, matrix, monitoring well, or permit reference.
