Modules activation

Screen reference

Use the System modules screen to decide which working areas are available in the EVX Software interface. Modules can be enabled or disabled, and their order can be changed.

Prerequisites

You need administrator access to open System settings and change module configuration. You should also review permissions after enabling a module, because module activation and user access are separate controls.

What this task changes

Activating a module makes that module available in the application. Deactivating a module hides that module from the interface. The module setting does not decide which users can access specific clients, projects, workspaces, tasks, or reports.

Steps

  1. Click your name in the upper-right corner.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select System modules.
  4. Find the module you want to change.
  5. Check the box to enable the module, or clear the box to disable it.
  6. Drag modules if you need to change their order in the interface.
  7. Review the Dimensions section on the same screen.
  8. Save the changes.
  9. Review user permissions for any role or group that should use the module.

Modules commonly reviewed during implementation

ModuleTypical implementation decision
Clients and ProjectsEnable when client and project classification is part of the operating model.
TasksEnable when work needs assignments, due dates, reminders, estimates, or status tracking.
TimeEnable when users record billable or non-billable time.
ExpensesEnable when budgeted or actual expenses are tracked against projects or tasks.
InvoicingEnable when invoices are generated from project, task, time, or expense data.
ReportingEnable when users need standard or custom reports.
DocumentsEnable when files are stored or linked inside project records.
ContactsEnable when people, companies, clients, and contact records are managed in the platform.
Calendar, Notes, LinksEnable when the team uses these objects as part of daily project work.
Gantt chartEnable when tasks need schedule visualization through dates, durations, and dependencies.

After activation

After enabling a module, test it with a user profile that represents the intended audience. Confirm that the user can see the module, create or edit the expected records, and access only the correct client, project, workspace, or other dimension data.

If the module is visible but data is missing, review permissions and dimension access before assuming the module was not activated correctly.

Next steps

Review permissions configuration and role defaults and maximums before rolling out module access to a wider group.
