Configuration
This part of the guides is for administrators. It covers the settings that apply to your whole firm: how EVX Software behaves, what new users start with, the information your forms collect, and how work is reviewed and loaded.
What you will find here
- System settings: the general settings of your EVX Software installation.
- Default user preferences: the language, date format, and other preferences each new user starts with.
- Notifications configuration: when EVX Software sends notifications, and how.
- Custom properties and forms: add the fields your firm needs to projects, clients, tasks, and other records.
- Templates configuration: set up project and task templates so the same work starts the same way every time.
- Approval workflows: decide how time and expenses are submitted and approved before they are billed.
- Import tool: load existing data, such as clients or projects, into EVX Software.
How it fits together
The settings in this part apply to everyone at your firm. Each user can then adjust their own view within them, as described in Customize your views. Default user preferences set the starting point for new users, and each user can change their own afterwards. Custom properties, templates, and approvals shape what your team sees in their daily work in the User Guides.
Example: getting ready for field season
Before the spring field season, an administrator adds a custom property for the permit number to every project, so it appears on the project form and in reports. She updates the project template for groundwater monitoring with the season's sampling rounds, and sets up approval so that field technicians submit their time weekly and project managers approve it before billing.
