Collaborate with your team

This page explains how your team shares work in EVX Software, then walks you through sharing a task with a teammate and leaving them a comment.

How your team works together

Your firm's work lives in EVX Software, not in inboxes and scattered folders. Here is how the pieces fit.

What you see. By default, you see your own tasks and the records related to them. You share a task with a teammate by adding them as a subscriber. Your administrator can open wider access through your firm's settings, for example for a whole project team. See Permissions and access control.

Subscribers. Teammates you add to a task can see it and follow it. The person assigned to a task is added automatically. See Subscriptions.

Comments. The conversation about a task stays on the task, where everyone who works on it can read it.

Documents. The Documents tab is the shared space for project files, such as field notes, maps, and reports. You can link a document to the task it belongs to. See Documents and Linked objects.

Share your task with a teammate

Open your task from the Tasks tab. Then:

  1. In the Properties panel on the right, under Subscribers, click Modify Subscribers.
  2. Click the teammate you want to share the task with. A check mark appears on their card.
  3. Click OK.

Your teammate can now open the task and follow it.

Your teammate now appears under Subscribers, and the task is shared with them.

Leave a comment for your teammate

  1. Scroll to Comments at the bottom of the task.
  2. Write your message, for example a question about the next step.
  3. Click Post comment.

Comments stay on the task, so the whole conversation is in one place.

The comment shows with your name and the date, and anyone who can see the task can read it.

Where project files live

Select your project in the left panel and open the Documents tab to see the files shared on the project.

Project files live in one shared space, not in personal folders.
