Labor categories

Labor categories classify the type of work being performed. They are important for planning, reporting, billing rates, cost rates, and invoice generation.

What you can do​

  • Select the correct labor category when creating tasks or entering time.
  • Administrators maintain labor category values and related billing rates.
  • Incorrect labor categories can cause billing or reporting issues.
  • Billable status may be managed depending on configuration.

Labor categories might include Principal Scientist, Project Manager, Staff Scientist, Field Technician, GIS Specialist, or Administrative Support.
